Re: Happy News - Janet!
Thank you, Dan, that is very kind and thoughtful of you and it's also greatly appreciated. Your review was really interesting, until I read it I hadn't realized how introspective the poems were. I usually just write down whatever shows up and don't question the reason or the outcome. Getting review...

Re: Happy News - Janet!
Hello Tracy and all of the poets, Doesn't April seem like it's way in the rearview mirror...and about a thousand years ago? I'm already looking forward to NaPo and hanging out with everyone again! Tracy, thank you for posting about the book. It was something I thought of and did the "good intention...

Re: Book just published
A.J. !!!! Congratulations! I'm happy for you, and for the world, because now they can read your words. I just got done taking an unexpected side-trip to Amazon. They say I will have your wonderful (and already much loved) book in my hands by Thursday. I will nestle it on my bookshelf next to your br...

Re: Air
Hello Colm, I love the language in this poem, and the pace. "a drift of air" is beautiful and original. I think of drift as a verb, or a noun when I think of a snow drift, but I've never thought of air that way. It really caught my imagination. The image of the lonely dogs dreaming of kind pets is ...

This Is Not An Elegy - Day 13
This Is Not An Elegy At 14 I questioned everything. Everything never answered. At 19 I watched my life blow away like an old barn in a hurricane, graceless and immediate. At 30 I knew exactly who I was; mother times two preacher’s wife mother’s daughter Daddy’s half-orphaned child. If I onl...

Not Amused _ Day 5
Not Amused
My muse
refuses
to write a poem today.
I've offered threats
bribes
and alcohol
all to no avail.
In return
she's given me
the sort of glares
that start forest fires.
I retreat
in hopes I'll live
to write another day.

Breaking __ Day 4
Breaking ___ Day 4 The evening news casts a shadow across Over and over again I find myself lost Nightmare the debt too large to be paid Nightmare lives lost to the games that are played Nightmare the spinning words that spew nonstop That stink of sulfur and lava death and rot I pou...

This is heartbreakingly beautiful. You've used so few words to say so much.

Re: Day 3: On A Saturday
This is one of those beautiful, mysterious poems that I don't fully understand, but it makes everything inside of me say "Yes!"
