Re: National Poetry Month Celebration 2019 - Post Poems Here!
April 1, 2019, One April first, a waning crescent, sliver-thin. look for the penumbra to discern her true nature, a wandering orb tallying time by phases, shifts the world. Possibilities pulse at shorelines, the beat of circles, cycles, orbits. Butterflies and whales drift north toward the pole tilt...

Re: Onset
Scary---I'm no spring chicken and dementia is one of my greatest fears. On the whole a good treatment of an all too human subject. I question whether the waitress would reply she is only eighteen as she probably doesn't realize he is reliving some distant past memory. She might be more inclined to s...

Good advice Gyppo,
BTW crow feathers were used to write a hand that has come to be known as "copperplate" which of course it wasn't because that name refers to the recreation of the written hand on a printing plate.
Just killing time until the hour and day arrives

Judging from this write I'd say your muse is over your right shoulder in robust good health singing like a Wagnarian opera star

As for Haiku...seriously! They're about as interesting as a Limerick and remind me of The Emperor's new clothes.
EXACTLY---there are some things that need justification. In those cases you just arrange the syllables and an inane statement becomes significant and all will admire your brilliance.

Re: Poetry Surges
I should look beyond the "post yer poems" thread more often. This is interesting. Let me throw out one more theory re the rise of poetry---the decline of attention span. Everything is in 30 second commercials, sound bites and action packed whatever. Are younger readers of poetry less inclined to sp...

Re: Isle of Pines
Is it OK to admit you have favorites among your own poems? One of mine is a sestina I wrote about 12 years ago--but don't tell my other poems. I had the six stanzas composed of six lines each but I didn't know the rules for the tercet at the end. After I joined MWC and posted what I had on that site...

The revision clarifies all. I really like the device of the similarities between the dog who loves the hunt and the dog's master--also a dog--hmmmph.
