Re: Cling
I don't understand the poem, all I get are fragments I can't connect from my POV, so I can't really comment. I do like the creative imagery in the last three lines.

Re: The other kind of hero
Redemption of a WW1 soldier. I like the combined grittiness of his bastard-hood and martial instincts; it adds dimension to the character study which is the core of the poem. In this regard, I wonder if alcohol could not be worked in as a common layer, the wife-beating and the literal "Dutch courage...

Who knows what thoughts are wrought
when wordsmiths write about slaughter
with words which are whimsical and trite
and inimical to the sanctity of human life.

These silly little leaves are a problem for me
when wind blasts the town from off of the sea,
they skitter in past the door so freely and easily
and unfortunately, I won't just saw down the tree.

Thanks Ty. Too kind, you are.
I'd like to write an epic manifesto this year, to save humanity and the planet. Just kidding. Sort of. Things are looking terrible.

A cloche of cliche
There are many gardens in this world, some beautiful and some unkempt. A lovely garden is a labour of love - an appreciation of nature’s gifts; the soil as foundation, the sun as the engine of creation, rain is the blessing from above. Seeds obey the seasons as kernels of germination, flowers are th...
