I've always been awful at introductions.

Yes, love it. Wish I was better at it, but hey that's the point of a forum such as this right? I'm mainly a songwriter and musician so I get off pretty easily since most music seems to lack the depth of most poetry in terms of actual writing. I figured I'd try to invest myself in poetry to get better at that, although my poetry style usually ends up being very different than my songwriting. Anyhow artistically I'm influenced by Jodorowsky, Derrida, Father John Misty, Bukowski, Ginsberg, Slavoj Zizek etc. etc.

Nice meeting you all, hopefully I can get some poems written in the next few days and get to work.

You're much too modest -- that was a wonderful introduction.  Song-writing certainly has its set of challenges, and it doesn't surprise me that your songs and poems are very different.  That is a great background to bring to poetry writing. You'll find that each of us comes from a different background and place, and thus brings a different set of strengths and weaknesses, and a differing POV's.  I look forward to reading your work.
