Poem in F Flat
You want it? I’ll give you the damn poem.
Between a feather and a fly appears a fish
a flower and more flies. The feather
waves, the fish wiggles. The flower smells
better than the fish. The fish tastes better
than the flies. The flies are quicker than
the flower. The flower giggles at the feather.
The flies love the fish. There’s the f’ing poem.

Re: Poem in F Flat
The flies love the [stinking} fish perhaps?
This one made me smile.

Sometimes all you need is a smile. Which this supplied, and which is still lingering several hours after the first reading
I can imagine a performance poet delivering this with a touch of theatrical resentment. When they think they've done enough for one evening but the audience want more.
"You want more? Alright, but this is it... Some of us have buses to catch."

I've been writing ever since I realised I could. Storytelling since I started talking. Poetry however comes and goes

Thanks Gyppo.
Yeah, this poem became an instant mainstay for me at Open Mic nights. It's generally well received by a live audience, thin as it is.
