A February Walk

Post by Matty11 » Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:58 pm

Unburden. Hear the greening chatter,
under the waterfall, the laughter -
unfrozen, a clarion of ghylls.

Unwrap and sip the greening sap,
unearth the tap, all roots refill.
Hear the playful chatter. Unburden.

Spring fever seems more intense this year. What a joyful, well crafted write. It reads like a mantra with the lovely repetitions. It also is filled with hope for the world. Enjoyed greatly.

It may seem strange to say this but this poem really unsettled me rather than providing a calming effect. The accumulative UNs when read aloud were for me too much and sucked the joy out of the poem especially when paired with the imperatives. Clearly, this is a personal reaction and not representative. I can appreciate the idea though.

Thanks Linda and Dave.

That was my intent Linda. I've had my jab this week and felt a little 'wonky' when walking, but saw a Bullfinch and thought that was what the poem said. Simple joys!
I can appreciate the idea though.
I'll take that as a win Dave :D

cheers

Do you mean you got vaccinated? I got my second shot Tuesday. It is a relief isn't it?

I've got to wait a number of weeks for the second one, but yes, it is a moment to appreciate.
