We are absolutely powerless. But being neutral (and occasionally fearless
) the protest might indicate that Russia is well capable of compromise, especially when there's no real threat? But it's PR as well. Or maybe they're afraid we'll refuse to send them any more Guinness or whisky

There's still some time for a breath. Other than the arms manufacturers, nobody wants war. Will saner heads prevail?
China would naturally ally itself with Russia - both nations have been subjected to US control and subjugation - we take their cheap labor and resources, and then are pissed that they would somehow want some of that back. It's all about money.
