Woke

Post by indar » Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:23 am

One of these days, Alice,
one of these days--
POW right in the kisser--
you're going straight to the moon...

American audiences gathered
around their TVs and laughed.

This presents such a succinct juxtaposition, which so strongly makes the point.  Stunning to recall -- violence against women being such a cultural staple that that the threat is used as humor.

How does it look to you if S.2 is made present-tense?

The brevity of this multiplies its force.

Very creative, Linda.

I thought about it. The title of this write is "Woke" which is now--that was then: back to that time some elements in this society wish to return----
