Testing the new microphone, wanting to know how it works for other folks.
One is
'I read cereal packets', about how I learned to read.
The other comes from this months 'Fives', entitled
'Signing Mary's Shirt'.
Any feedback on this experiment is welcomed.
Here's the link, to Soundcloud.

I couldn't get the audio to fire up. I used to use SoundCloud, but the site made some changes which rendered the platform less designed for my purposes. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I'll keep trying.
Cheers.

That's a bummer ;-( Thanks for trying anyway.
It plays back for me. My aunt in Canada managed to listen to something else I had posted on soundcloud, but after my voice it just segued into some Canadian rapper.
Not sure what's going on there.

I listened without any glitches. Good speaking voice, well-modulated, almost theatrical.
Can't say why but I was sort of expecting a more gravelly voice.

Cheers, Mark. I'm glad it worked for someone
I've no idea why some can't get it to play on their computer.
'Almost theatrical?' That's my inner Storyteller at work.

Comes across loud and clear, Gyppo.
You have a very pleasant and engaging voice.

Cheers, Colm. The better microphone definitely helps. As does the 'pop guard' to take the edge off some of the more 'plosive syllables. I can sit back in my chair and just talk to it as if I have someone sat opposite.
For anyone else thinking of trying it I can confirm that having a drink, water or whatever, before you start is a good idea. Having a dry larynx and tongue doesn't help at all.

I remember now, I did this on SoundCloud a few years ago, I will check if the sign-up is still there.

Hehe - still there and i remembered the password. Gyppo, I hope you don't mind me posting this here. One of Tracy's pieces read by me. I see others there but mostly dreck, I think. And if it defaults to some dreadful music - I'm innocent.

Mark, came out clear enough but a little quiet at this end, even with my speakers cranked up to full.
I always felt a bit sorry for Pluto too
