Re: Risk

Tones :D :D :D
I feel like this applies, obviously, to a person's sexuality, but as much to adventurousness in all aspects of life -- artistic expression, relationships, career choices, music, travel, and of course the beguiling culinary choices.

Risk

I ran across this today:

  Risk
 And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful

Re: Winter Comfort

Indar--  This poem, like hearty bean soup, is ample and welcome winter fare.  I feel warmed and comforted for the reading.   Lot of pregnant line endings to play with.  Or perhaps I am chronically bedeviled with imagined  enjambment issues.  Be that as it may, here’s what I suggest you consider as a...

What a delightful breath of fresh air.

Re: cradle

Hi Dave, I can’t image what triggered this write, but I love it. The Moses parallels are wonderful.  I am wondering how you would feel about papyrus rather than damp cloth in L.1.  Is that too heavy handed of a reference?  Also, the subject of S.1 is the “cry”.  As written, the cry is “folded in dam...

Re: street talk

I have lived in both kinds of places.  Fargo, ND, surprisingly seemed notably unfriendly to me, much as this poem describes Hamburg to be.  Though the city has much to commend itself, it was not a place for me.  Certainly not when I was less out-going than I am now.  I am reluctant to admit that I c...

Re: street talk

I expect you won't be offered a position with Hamburg Visitors Bureau any time soon.

This narrative has the feel of truth to it, and it is not exclusive to Hamburg.

S.1 L.3 -- "lighty" ?

Nice writing, Dave.
