I can't tell you how excited I am about this site.  I have been writing off and on for lots of years, but have [semi] seriously been trying to get better at this for the last five years.  In elementary school we were made to memorize and recite poetry - Longfellow, Whitman, Van Dyke etc. My dad read us Robert Service and Alfred Lord Tennyson.  Imagine my surprise in college to discover the works of Levertov, Ginsburg, Koch, Sexton, Strand, ee cummings, and Robert Creely.  I cringe at what I wrote in those days, but then I sometimes cringe at what I wrote last month as well.  I try to read broadly these days, and sites like this give me access to lots of unpublished gems by writers of all levels.  My favorite published authors are Wm Stafford, James Arlington Wright, Thomas Hennen, and Edna St Vincent Millay.
