While I enjoyed the poem and each of its images, its still does not add up to the big picture without your explanation IMO. The beetle black is stropng and stongly reminiscent of Dylan Thomas (crow black) but if the cat and absence of birds suggest climate change, doe sthe beetle black work itself into that narrative. If not, would another animal work better - something ominous.
I love the clean poverty of snow though I do wonder what the poverty refers to given to the obvious quantity that has fallen, in which case the wealth suggested by your original title would hint at a clean wealth of snow.
Although it is the car being dug out there is not enough to suggest the value this car has and not enough to make it clear the snow is global warming, though I love the son at the end now. It may not matter so much to really understand the poem in that the question automatically amkes one think.
